The Al Frío y Al Fuego Restaurant began as an embarkation port in 2006 for the Delfin I Amazon Cruise vessel. Back then, Delfin Amazon Cruises – Relais & Chateaux operated out of Iquitos and it wasn’t until they decided to move the operation to Nauta, in order to be closer to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, that this embarkation port was renovated to become the first floating restaurant in the region.
The name, Al Frío y Al Fuego translates to “Cold and Fire,” referring to the restaurant’s various food options, from a cold fresh ceviche, to a savory grill dish, Al Frío y Al Fuego aims to offer the best selection of local Amazonian cuisine. The restaurant was originally aimed to serve the local market at large, however in recent years it has been gaining the attention of tourists, for its unique and immersive environment and delicious local cuisine.
